Homeless Youth Outreach Project
General Information
HCI initiated the Homeless Youth Outreach Project (HYO) in 1988 as a response to growing concerns about high truancy and couch surfing. Youth Outreach offers goal-directed case management and outreach services designed to secure appropriate living situations and to maintain or establish school attendance for unaccompanied, locked out, kicked out, and runaway youth (or youth at risk of same).
Outreach Services are offered in the following counties:
- Knox County
- Waldo County
- Lincoln County
- Sagadahoc County
- Off-shore Islands of North Haven, Vinalhaven and Islesboro
