Family Visitation Program

General Information

Since 2002, HCI has offered family visitation services in safe, supportive environments for Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) sponsored families and for private pay clients.

For Maine DHHS Sponsored Families:  Children who are taken into state custody have a right to see their parents and other family members with court approval.  Toward this goal, HCI provides facilitated family visitation between children in the custody of DHHS and their families.  Consistent with court orders, visits are arranged at HCI visitation sites or in the community in six counties throughout mid-coast and central Maine.

Visitation is provided at visitation sites in the following counties:

  • Knox County
  • Waldo County
  • Lincoln County
  • Kennebec County
  • Somerset County
  • Sagadahoc County

For Private Pay Families:  Families that are experiencing separation or divorce sometimes need assistance in helping their family make these transitions.  HCI provides individualized family visitation between children and their families at HCI visitation sites in six counties throughout mid-coast and central Maine.

Visitation is provided at visitation sites in the following counties:

  • Knox County
  • Waldo County
  • Lincoln County
  • Kennebec County
  • Somerset County
  • Sagadahoc County
