Who We Serve
HCI serves families whose children are in DHHS custody. Eligible families have successfully addressed safety concerns in the home, have complied with their court ordered service plan, and are ready for their child(ren) to return home within 30 days of being referred to the program.
All referrals are made by a DHHS Child Protective Caseworker, and services are voluntary. There is no fee charged directly to families for this service. Both MaineCare and non MaineCare families are eligible to receive services for children up to age 18.
Priority is given to families whose children have been out of the home for less than six months. Secondary priority is given to families whose children have been out of the home for six months or longer. FRP services are provided to the coastal regions and off-shore islands of:
- Waldo County
- Knox County
- Lincoln County
- Sagadahoc County
