Mission

The primary purpose of Home Counselors Inc. is to enhance and promote the integration and cohesiveness of families and youth living in the mid-coast and central areas of the State of Maine.  HCI believes fundamentally that – in most instances – children are best cared for in their natural home environments when safety for all family members can be ensured and when parents are committed to raising their children confidently and appropriately.  At HCI we have adopted the foundation of the adage by Nathan Ackerman: 

 “In a family there is no such thing as one person in trouble”.
